Default Front Tire Wear

How are everyones front tires wearing out? Is the tread on the inside of the tire wearing considerably faster than across the face and outside? Reason I am asking is I just took her in for the 15k miles service, and was told that there is 0 tread left on the inner edge, yet across the face there is over 8/32. The rear tires were constant at 5/32 across the tire. I took a look, and it lookings like the fronts have about a half inch strip on the inner edge that is wearing considerably faster (0/32 tread left).

I have been complaining about the car pulling to the one side everytime I have been in there, and all they say is that the alignment falls within spec. Any input?

More toe in. Too much toe out. Mine were showing cords at 22k.

It is the slightly aggressive alignment the ISF comes with. If tire wear means more to you than turn in performance, have toe dialed out with an alignment as mentioned above.

This has happened to my IS-F's front tires, while I realize the tires are not guaranteed past 15k, it frustrates me that my rear tires and ALL other tread besides the front insides have plenty of life left. Anyone else having similar problems? I've got about 17k on my tires.

Did you ever rotate your tires side to side to prevent abnormal wear?
Or might any of you consider adjusting the toe, to get another 10k out of your front tires? For those of us who don't track often, this seems like a good idea.

What a coincidence. Been a few months since I've put my car on the lift. Shocked to find the following this morning:

Needless to say, I immediately picked up some new tires and threw them on. 30006 miles on the factory Bridgestones. Very embarrassing to say I let this go that long and not check on it more frequently.

Yes, glad I caught it when I did too!

All I could find on such short notice was Falken 452 and Nitto NT05. I chose to go with the Nitto's for now. Rears still have plenty of meat. These will buy me some time.

lobux states more toe in is needed but UCrazyKid says to "have toe dialed out". Which is correct for this situation assuming the stock alignment is too aggressive and wears out the inside edge too fast?

You'd better talk to your tuner again. Your car should be 3mm (1/8") toe out in front and 3mm toe in at the rear. This will dramatically help the car turn. Even the solid axle dirt track guys put at least 1/16" toe in at the rear by bending the axle housing.

My tires are wearing just like everyone elses at 15k. I think that I can squeeze another 3k out of them. I'm going to try out the Hankook Ventus V12s next.

Don't mean to hijack your thread but I am about to spend $1600 OTD for a set of PS2 from Discount Tires. Does anyone think I need a factory re-alignment in order to prevent whats happening to a lot of you here? I thought I read that somewhere in CL.

I'm looking at the Hankook Ventus V12s too, price is best, and they look pretty aggressive!

To confirm are you not seeing much wear ANYwhere else besides the front insides?

Is anyone else frustrated that the spec alignment only wears the insides?

For those of us who don't track our car all that much, or even for those who do, but know how to set up our alignment for regular daily driving, can you please provide the alignment toe specs? I just don't track my car like I'd hoped to, and can't believe the dealer is telling me despite the "performance alignment" on the ISF, I should expect to get more than 15k out of my tires anyway. I got 28k on my IS350's "15k avg tires."

I really feel like Lexus should let F owners know about this alignment up front, give them the option to alter it. Would a less aggressive alignent TRULY ruin the handling of our car, for those of us who don't track often/if ever?
