Default Would you buy a brand new 2009 usb?

Need your help guys would you buy a 2009 usb for 50k or pay a little more for
a 2010? I got the dealer to do 1500 above invoice, which is $58,200 for a 2010, The dealer selling me the 2009 said they are losing about $3700 dollars
just to get rid of it. Can that be true, Why would you sell something at a lost?

I am really leaning towards the 2009, That way I can take the money and get the joe z exhaust and some other goodies!

Depends on what options are available for the 2009 and how much of a break you're going to get.

1500 over invoice on a 2010 is very good considering the car is now in very very very limited quantities.

As far as the 2009, if they've been sitting on the car over 60 days, they've already lost money as they're paying for it as it sits on their lot. If you're going to be saving a good amount of money on an 09, I would definitely jump on it.

IMO, I would get 2010.. Not only because its just newer. but because it has LSD. resale value would be better also just as much as u invested in it.. i believe it also comes with couple of new features..

i just dont trust dealers when they say "we are losing money" and
i have no idea what they could have done to the car while seating in their lot since 2009.
ive heared some bad stories about the cars in showroom and their lot... (Some dealers dont take care of the cars much as customers would)

Do you know that for a fact? All cars depreciate over time. Luxury cars take the biggest hit in their first year of ownership. Cars are the worst investment you can make.

i know that cars depreciate overtime... and No. i dont know this for fact.
But usually KBB says year, mileage, conditions are the main concerns of the resale value... so thats what i thought.. 2010 would be more money then 2009 if you are going to sell it idk 2012...
please correct me if im wrong..

Is the LSD really that important in a street car? I'd go with the '09 and put the difference elsewhere.

if ur goin taking in to the track and want to compete get the 2010. if its goin to be mainly for street driving get the 2009.

you have to get the true price difference, including taxes, between the two.

btw, in the northeast dealers received a limited quantity $1000 rebate certificate for any car on their lot this past weekend, you might want to inquire about that for your area.

There's your first problem. KBB.

KBB values are "opinions" of their research. It does not dictate the real value of cars...it just serves as a guideline.

If you look at the 2009 vs 2008, resale values are not much different between the two especially considering there were changes between both years. An LSD is not going to make a car worth anymore during resale. This was the case in the Gen1 IS300. Most people didn't even know if they had LSD or not. It never made a difference in pricing because it's insignificant to most. When you resell a car private party or trade it in, you never get 100% of the value you originally paid. Instead you get only a fraction of what you paid, especially when it comes to parts.

If you can get a 2009 for $50K verses a 2010 for $58,200.... both packaged with ML & Nav..

I would go for the 2009 & save a ton of money.. !!!

You will just be missing the following notable 2010 changes:
New Wheel Design, Torsen LSD, HDD Nav w/Live Traffic, Blue leather-trimmed insert on steering wheel & Foldable rear headrests..

The wheels on the 2010 are ugly, I would turn around and get some used 09 Wheels, which would set me back another 2k. The 09 has four options they have added: Ml, nav, wheel locks and trunk mat. I just hope usb is going to be an ok color to sell in the future, It seems most left over 09s are usb.

The 2010 is black, which I think might be a better resale color later. Plus lsd
is nice.

This is a hard decision, I will have to ship the usb for $600 the 2010 is local.

out the door on the 2010= $62,786
out the door on the 2009= $54,155
shipping 600.00
doc fee 55.00
tax 3500.00
car 50k

Thats a savings of = $8631.00
So what do you guys think
Im hoping in five years recoupe half sell for $26k

Lots of savings on the 2009...

Also, I think USB is a bit more rare than Black and appealing @ resale time.
