Default Custom Exhaust help

I put a Borla axle back on my F and like the sound but was wandering what people thought about cutting off right after the second set of cats and running duels all the way back through the Borla mufflers? I would put an X-pipe in there also. I guess what I am asking is what would the sound be like? The resonator would be gone and so would the Y-piping. Also would this void the factory warranty? Plus the little bit of piping after the secondary cats are necked down and want to get rid of it. Would this help with power and about how much? Also does anyone know what kinda gains you get with the Borla axle back? I didnt feel much. I don't want a full race exhaust due to the warranty being gone. Any advice would be appreciated.

^^ As soon as you start cutting up your oem exhaust, the warranty would be gone on it.... Not that its a big deal anyways..

The oeM front-mid pipe with the 2 secondary cats & resonator is $1600 part

With out a resonator you might get some droning..

Can't speculate on your other questions.

Thanks! Right now there is some droning and i don't mind it. I guess i might be asking how much does the OEM resonator restrict flow?

It doesn't... It helps controls sound waves.

With out it there will be more "sound"..

With that Borla on from 2k rpm and lower it is pretty bad drone. With out the mufflers at all the car sounded pretty mean so i might just make my own piping with no mufflers. Anyone know where i can get a fitting for the OEM exhaust to fab up my own piping back to the tips?

I had bought a second stock axel back section off someone on the forums and cut the mufflers off and had straight pipes and hangers installed. The sound is very mean. A lot better over stock setup. I would recommend going this route in case you ever want to go back to stock so you don't have your stock exhaust all hacked up.

your local muffle shop should have something
if not, check jeg's or summit...they usually have those DIY parts
