your right in the whole scheme of things it doesnt matter...
it realistically doesnt matter to have an ISF either, but i got it because its badass, and fast, and fun, and not like every other car out there...
i suppose i could have just picked up a base corolla or civic, and it would get me to and from work and the grocery store just as well as the F...
your right... 08 ISF for sale now....
the hybrid picture thing explains a lot.... LOL, jk jk

My whole problem is that giant snow-sled looking disc under my hood, lol,
I want it gone..
but with taking it off there is about 5 million hoses and wires that look even worse. looks like when a kid cleans his room and stuffs everything in the closet. if you take off the closet door it looks like ****, but the closet door itself is also ugly, LOL, so what to do????

i dont know how to post a pic, but google "Audi RS4 engine", thats the look im trying to go for, thats the closest comparison, and seems that engine bay is just as cramped as the ISF, if audi can do it lexus/toyota surely can, then again the audi RS4 motor is made by Honda/Mugen, so that could explain a lot, LOL, a little small known fact that Audi contacted Honda many moons ago to build a high strung V8, from the mugen race cars(just to throw a little factoid out there)

The cover is there to hide the engine and the spider web of wires. Lexus and Toyota engines are easy to work on because everything is very accessible, simplicity in design, not made with asthetics in mind. Look at a Ferrari engine. They look great, but I have heard they are a ***** to work on because everything is tucked under the engine and hard to reach without a lift.

I think the look you are referring to harks back to the days of gearheads and those who built or customized their own engine. After laboring over it for weeks, it made sense to keep it exposed and show off your work at cars shows or Bob's Big Boy. But frankly, that mentality does not mesh here with the Lexus line. The factory IS-F is a finished masterpiece and modern techno marvel, not a 60's or 70's muscle car or teenage show and tell project.

not really...., im not talking about random chrome bolt-on junk, or steel braided anodized radiator hoses, or stupid ****.
Someone post a pic of an AUDI RS4 engine bay, thats what im talking about.
LEXUS turned over a new leaf with this car, and was supposedly like nothing LEXUS has ever built(which in 95% of the car it is), this car is supposed to showcase Lexus' ability to make something racey and exciting, and cool, so when I pop the hood to look at the crown jewel of this masterpiece, id expect something more, than hoses and wires stuffed under a $20.00 piece of plastic, with an 'F' glued on it. i didnt expect to see the same thing as an IS 250, or ES350, or RX 350 engine bay...
im not talking about a chrome alternator, or billet pulleys, or someone with a mullet behind the wheel.
Just some excitement, thats all.

hahaha, those are awesome. but thanks for posting the pic. DONT GET ME WRONG, I love my car, and wouldnt take an RS4 or M3 over it, i was just hoping there are now, or will be in the future, mods to make it look a little better (and for those that like the upside down snow-sled-saucer-garbage can lid thing, then to each their own, leave it on). LOL.
