that engine cover looks sick!! ive been thinking about painting the engine cover just cuz it looks a little bland to me. i know not too many people will be notice it, but it'll make for a good DIY project.

I think the look you are referring to harks back to the days of gearheads and those who built or customized their own engine. After laboring over it for weeks, it made sense to keep it exposed and show off your work at cars shows or Bob's Big Boy. But frankly, that mentality does not mesh here with the Lexus line. The factory IS-F is a finished masterpiece and modern techno marvel, not a 60's or 70's muscle car or teenage show and tell project.
Leave the hood down, or just take the cover off to show the real techno-marvel.
I promise that it will be appreciated, hoses and whatever notwithstanding.
