I've used Injen b4 on an Infiniti (G35Coupe) and liked it a lot. It wasn't quite as easy to install as the Tekeda that I have now on the F and the shorty (Injen) sucked some hot air from the engine compartment which the Takeda doesn't do.
Power difference? probably not much in it. Can't see it being more than a few ponies and torques on any of them.

seems like my dyno guy dropped off the planet. I have another dyno scheduled at the other dynojet I did my first baseline at next thursday.

Also, I went to pull the vid off my camera....it was not there, perhaps I did not press record.

And lastly, my mileage has finally rebounded to where it was before the intake test...some 2500 miles later. Pretty weird. Next dynos will be with AFR.

If anyone still wants either of these intakes I will give you the best price I can. It would be nice to get some of the testing dollars back

Why is it that people still buy these aftermarket intakes when it's almost definatively proven that aftermarket intakes don't provide any increase in power or torque??!!...Darshana S...

The physics is probably a bit complicated, but when I think about the surface area of the filter and any vacuum effect of the design to suck/push air through the throttle, it seems to suggest the amount of airflow from the takeda/injet kits and the OE intake wasn't much different.

There is the bling effect of the aftermarket kits; they can look visually pleasing or produce different sound characteristics--intake and exhaust sounds--more the latter...

people buy these things for different reasons. some just want to make their intake look nice. some want louder intake regardless of horse power gain or loss. some took a religious approach to Intakeism and will never accept any criticism.

i anpplaud Figs' efforts. his comparison is not a perfectly designed scientific study, but it was enough for me to put back my stock system.

You and I think the same on this one.

Having said that it does not mean everybody else should think the same way we do just because some people buy it because of the way it sounds or the way it looks.

Once upon a time I thought that way about car mods so I do have the perspective on why some here do it for those reasons.

I've just purchased an Injen (powder coated black) intake.. I'm going to take some pics and give my hp increase/decrease opinion as soon as I recieve, and will also post a video for all to see.. I too have been waiting 5 freaking months for a video of INJEN.. and I've got nothing to show for it so I've given in and ordered my own, brand spaking new.. I've been talking to some shops about how to increase the power on an open filter like this, one mentioned, and said they have done one F like this before, putting a hole in the engine bay the size of a softball right under the filter and create some sort of duct in the bumper area to draw in the cool are from below. Seems like a great idea, and Im going to be the first to try, or F*** up my car completely and totally regret it!
