Congrats on the car, nice car indeed! White is the color I'd go with on that car too. My buddy in NJ has a red GTR with the HKS GT600 kit. His name is Sean Ivey you should hit him up if you're looking do to the Cobb AP etc. on your GTR. Feel free to PM me if you need his info.

The GT-R is a marvel technologically, the engine, drivetrain and electronics. But the cabin interior, and I guess there's no way to mince words here, looks like cheaply made materials were used for the seats, console, dash.

And in a sense, the GT-R along with Corvette Z-06 occupy in my mind, are the bottom feeders in the supercar class, which I could define arbitrarily as anything over 191 mph, thus leaving out the Cadillac CTS-V and base Covettes.

So if you accept the premise that GT-R is an affordable supercar, it's disproportionate that a brake job should cost more or less 10% of the retail price of the new car, or $8,000. http://forums.gtrforums.com/showthread.php?t=1761

actually the interior of the GT-R isn't that bad...I mean it's way better than the Corvettes...LoL...I think the interior for the GT-R is all hand stitched leather from France?

It's actually pretty sorry. I spent some time with one, the back seats are pure vinyl, the front seats have only a tiny amount of real leather around the bolstering, the suede seating surface is not real, the seat backs are vinyl, the console is painted plastic. There is some stitching around the dash and the movable instrument pod, probably its best feature.

I agree with you, the Corvette interior is equally cheap if not more so.

I have to disagree and say that the Gtr's interior is actually nice. The dash, steering wheel, seats are good quality BUT my one gripe is that the flat black plastic behind the ac/temp controlls is subpar (for 2012 it will have an update in this area along with some new interior colors & front bumper). Atleast you don't get a steering wheel from the Colbat like the Zr1 What other company can you buy a car from at that price and get those performance numbers from? Right NO ONE! I come in contact with many high end cars and others out there with higher $ tags have many cheap bits (BMW one of them). James enjoy snapping many necks and being the envy of many with "better" cars

That's the point. It's the cheapest supercar out there price wise along with the Z06, and it shows in the fax paux interior materials. So why does Nissan ratet $8,000 for a brake job? It's not the only car with Brembos on the planet.

The GTR is not considered a supercar, it does deliver supercar performance at the fraction of the price though. A supercar would be a Gallardo, Scuderia, ZR1 or even a 997 TT. The ZR1 at over $100K has some of the most craptastic seats in a car of that performance level and shares the same seats as the ZO6 and regular C6. My buddy has a ZO6 and spent another $4K having the interior redone which included additional bolsters in the factory seats.

The money spent on a GTR is on the drivetrain and performance, much like the Evo and STI. To get similar performance as a GTR from Porsche you have to buy a 997 TT which would be the equivalent of $48K + the GTR. With the differrence in price I would think you'd be able to do the entire interior of the GTR and still have change.

While I don't buy into the GT-R being a super car, Nissan definitely markets it as such. I do agree that it is a lot of performance for the money.

I don't think the GT-R interior is all that bad. It isn't as nice as the F or the M3, but it isn't that far behind. The plastics seem to be of decent quality and the leather stitching on the dash is a nice touch. I wish the "suede" seat inserts did a better job of at least looking like suede, but otherwise I'm happy.

While I don't have an interior shots handy here are a few pics of my new HKS Legamax exhaust that is mated to the HKS resonated midpipe. Kenny at Jotech said the same setup yielded 21whp and close to 30wtq improvements on another customer's stock GT-R. I'm not sure how I feel about the blue tips, but I do like the sound a lot more than stock.
