According to my service advisor, the issue with the tach needle is dead pixels (she said they aren't LEDs). A whole new instrument cluster has been ordered, they don't replace just the needle. Kind of weird but as long as the problem is solved, who cares?

I have my car back, the tach needle is back to normal. The whole instrument cluster was replaced, mileage was hard coded before shipping it to the dealer.
