Okay I started this thread and wanted to let people know that I have sat in numeorus IS's and do not fit comfortably with a sunroof. I have to crook my head at a 45 degree angle and keep the seat at its lowest / furthest back position. I am only 6'2" but have very short legs for my height. Not to mention it gets tiring hitting your head in the roof over every pavement expansion.

I have owned two Audi A4's (one with a sunroof and one without). I much preferred the one without. No hair brushing the headliner, more comfortable seat position, no extra road noise from sunrood, no rattles, no leaks, and ~100 lbs lighter.

After the last Audi I factory special ordered a BMW 3-Series without a sunroof and loved it too.

I know the IS-F could come without a sunroof (per the brochure) and there are a few out there. The M3 is also available without a sunroof. This is unlike the 335i and IS350 which only come with sunroofs now.

Just think: stiffer, lighter, quieter, and faster.....

C3UO,

As I was reading your last post, "I crook my head at a 45 degree angle" and imagine having to drive like that. I feel your pain bro.

But I can honestly say that a short guy like me has never hadsun roof problems like your. Hell - I can wear Abe Lincoln hat and still be comfy. lol

the height of the driver can pose a problem. i know im not that tall (5'9-10") but the roof is seemingly right there atop, unavoidable. I find myself hunching a little bit so that i can then adjust the seat after my sis drives the car. although it'd be nice to have more headroom for my F, it would be that much more difficult to go without, considering so cal weather is so lovely...most of the time.

Maybe you're still missing the point - I'm 6' 2" tall with a 34" inseam and my head hits the headliner with the sunroof and NO helmet when the seat is properly adjusted.

I gave you the benefit of the doubt for your first post but it sounds like you just want to continue and crap on this thread.

It doesn't matter if you daily drive it 99% of the time and track it the other 1%. On the track, if you do not fit into your car with a proper helmet and the seat properly adjusted, then it is an issue.

You sound like someone who's never done any real driving. I'm sure you also recommend driving with one hand on 12 o'clock.

I can understand your problem. I don't have an IS-F but I do bang my head on the roof every once in a while. The only real solution I see here is either special order the IS-F with no sun roof or go with some after market seats that lower you a bit. I had a smilar problem in my integra with a sun roof and I kept smaking my head with a helmet on during auto X events. I resolved it by getting some Recaros and the problem was not more. Then again the IS-F is still a luxury car so I don't know how good it would look with aftermarket seats not to mention if any company out there make seat brakets for the second gen IS.

Sounds like you don't know much about proper positioning in a car. Grandma? Sure. Insults will not help your argument or cure your ignorance.
