Default rear tire fitment question

hi
I just changed my rims today and found out that my rear tires
are too big so it might cause rubbung the fenders. it looked nice but think its too fat for rear tires.

I have 19*9.5 offset 42 with 275/35/19 tires.
If i want size down the tires, should I go for 265/30/19 or 275/30/19?
is 275/30/19 would give more space? or not much difference?
is 265/30/19 would be too tight for the rim?
could not decide which one I should go..

I will be very appreciate for your input.
thank you.

The stock 255/35/19 tires are are 26" high. Your 275/35/19s are 26.6" Tall. 275/30/19s would be 25.6" tall. This is closer to the stock height. The true match for the stock height is 285/30/19s, but this size is sort of hard to find.

The stock offset is +55mm, yours is +42mm. I believe that's close enough to stock to not cause a problem.

^^^^A 275/35/18 tire is exactly the same height as a 275/30/19.

i know that.. but not as wide.. the 275/30/19 is a narrower tire. which mean less rub!

^^^^Nooo - The section width on both sizes is the same, 275mm or 10.8" to 10.9". There may be some variations from manufacturer to manufacturer, but within a given manufacturer and model of tire the section width will be the same. Look at the example I have attached below:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....lse&fromCompar

Open up the specs tab

One more thing, the actual section width of a particular tire will vary with the width of the wheel it's mounted on. I believe the section width increases or decreases .2" with every .5" change in rim width.

True the section width is controlled by the government, but the actual tread width can vary significantly between manufacturers and even models. The only way to know for sure it to mount and measure.
