Default 2 months and 3.5K miles later...

I thought I would write and share my thoughts on my 2009 USB ISF. I recently had my F in for the gas pedal recall and got an IS250 as a loaner. I was inspired to write about the F.

I traded in my 03 IS300 for a used 09 USB with 6600 miles on it. Both cars came from Lexus of Albuquerque. I had buyers remorse after making the first payment...my IS300 was paid for and had a lot of life left in it. But I have grown to love the F more everyday.

The interior: I love the black interior in this car! The seats are incredible, though I wish they were ventilated. The ML sound is great...super clear at high volume but could use some deeper bass. I am very dissapointed that an ipod dock is not standard. I am also not sold on the touch screen climate controls though they are easy to use. Bluetooth rules...I can't imagine ever not having it. The nav is nice but just don't use it much.

The exterior: I love the way the car looks. I wouldn't change a thing. USB is a great color but it isn't easy to keep clean. Thank the lord for free dealer hand washes...I am in there every week. I used to think I would prefer Starfire or Mercury, but I am now in love with the Blue. The wheels do collect alot of brake dust, but a wipe down a couple times a week seems to be all they need.

The powertrain: The highlight for sure. The 5.0 V8 is the real deal. A ***** cat when cruising that returns impressive fuel mileage, and a rabid, pissed off tiger when it's time to put the power down. I love the split personality of the car! It is probably the most siginfigant trait of the IS-F! The 8spd trans is great too...and a perfect match with the V8. I got it to 160 last week but lost the courage to keep going!

The suspension: The car is firm but not bothersome. This car is my DD and it commutes just fine. I have a little over 10K on the stock Bridgestones. They might make it to 20k miles.

There you have it. My quick wrap up. I hope this car gives me 100k trouble free miles just like my last IS!

Nice write up. Sure hope that 160 was on a closed course, with a professional driver.

good write up, bunker108. more importantly, glad you're enjoying your F! i doubt you'll face any problems up to 100k and well beyond. lexus has made it quite clear to the automotive industry that it is has performance, luxury, and reliability all wrapped in a beautiful package with every vehicle.
