Default ISF - How

Hello everyone, I am new to this board. I am looking to become an ISF owner and was wondering if you can give me advice on HOW to deal with dealer pricing, from your experiences and some other questions. Thanks in advance.

1) If MSRP is $64,070 for 2010 USB with Alpine Leather, what should be my purchase price goal?

2) What was your purchase price from MSRP?

3) Will there be a NM edition or special edition again?

4) Will there be any difference between 2010 and 2011?

5) When is the next facelift or redesign of the ISF?

Thanks again. By the way, if region is important with pricing then I reside near Chicago.

1) MSRP seems rather high, but id shoot to knock it down to an even 60k, better if its OTD

2) got mine back in 08, and haggled my way down almost 6.5k, so it pays to be a little firm (and arrogant at times)...about 60k in the end

3) if you want the NM edition, i think #4 is being sold. i saw his posting earlier this week.

4) 2011 will probably be a facelift for the IS line, but i dont think the F will be affected just yet; it still only is in its 3rd year of inception.

5) not sure about the new redesign, but if typically 6-8 years after the first MY, so maybe 3-4 years from now? cant wait to see what lexus has in store for its original F model...

best of luck, and definitely research around before choosing! know what you need, and try not to get suckered with all the dealer gimmicks, because you could probably get those additional products outside of the dealership for far less. and, of course, once you get her, post some pics!

Pete I am selling my ISF. The price includes the 7yr 100k warranty and the 3yr wheel and tire protection plus all the little extras I put on it. This is an OBO offer so don't be afraid to shoot me what you would pay for it. other than the LSD on the 2010's I like the wheels and insides better on the 08-09.

Thank you guys. Anyone else and your experiences? Trying to do my homework before facing the car salesman/manager tag team with preparations. I am really set on getting a USB with alpine leather, thanks though BigA.

The USB with alpine leather is in CA, but I live in Chicago. Correct me if wrong, but my local dealership should have no problem swapping one of theirs for the USB from CA right? Are they going to use this to opportunity for more fees, raise the price? How does this swapping process work from dealer to dealer? How about flying to CA and buying it there? Could I possibly get a better deal there? Is it worth the trouble?

Next, there are 3 local dealers. 1 has one, one has 2, and one has 4 ISFs on the lot. The dealers with the 1 and 4 are the same company/owner (McGraths). Now, correct me if wrong, but I should approach the dealer with the 4 currently on his lot b/c he would be "more willing" to deal right?

Yes I would go after the dealer whom has $ as long as one of them is the car you want. I would NOT hesitate in picking one that is far from home. My wife and I had a wonderful experience flying out to pic mine up, it was a great road trip!

After doing a search on other threads. It seems like somewhere around $5K discount is the average from MSRP. Comments?

Love your SN - another fellow Boilermaker I take it

McGrath is probably the largest Lexus dealer in Chicago - bought my 99 GS400 from them many many years ago. They have two dealerships but the Westmont location took care of me best.

Price you should easily be able to get 5k off if you work with them....

Yes I am, class of 06. Good to meet you s4play. "Easily 5K off".....hmm. Let me give Westmont a visit. I went to the Chicago location and they only had one black, not what I was looking for. Westmont has a blue one, but I don't know if I will be able to do black interior. I'll go and see what they say and at least check out the blue in person. Thanks.

Got back from Westmont with mixed feelings. They're only willing to do $4K off base on dealer invoice of $58,111 and MSRP of 64,070. Does dealer invoice seem high?

Also, according to Westmont, their nation wide directory/search resulted in none/zero 2010 in USA with USB and Alphine leather, while the guy I'm dealing with in Van Nuys, CA says he has it....hmm.

So after the first attempt, it's either $60K here in Chicago or $59K+$900 (trucking fee to my IL) in CA.

There's still a 2nd and 3rd try. Sounds like another $1K off should be my goal, right?

Buy it directly from the CA dealer and have it shipped at your expense to Chicago! I got my '08 USB/Alpine this way. I'm in CA, but got it shipped from Wisconsin.
