I wonder if the entire 2011 IS lineup will lose AFS?

Under the shared parts mentality, it sounds like it will..

Maybe the resigned projectors (wider beam pattern) are so good that an afs system would show no improvements? Probably no benefit.

Or maybe because of LEDs, theres no room for the mechanism.

According to the Technology Summery I attached to Page 10 of this thread, every 2011 Lexus Model has AFS as either Standard or Optional EXCEPT any model of the IS.

Great catch Lou.... I didn't see the fine print in you pdf file... tks!

So there you have it, AFS dropped from the entire 2011 IS Line up

Just like I thought... One headlight design which applies across the model.

Latest issue of Motor Trend also stated IS line was losing AFS. No big deal as far as I'm concerned. The improvements to the IS-F certainly are getting my attention.

200+ mph speedo is nice and so is the rev light, I wonder if the beep will still be there or just a light?
I don't really dig the 200mph speedo. It adds too many numbers to the dial making the analog speedo hard to read. I always leave my GT-R's display on the digital speedo because I have a hard time reading my speed on the cluttered analog dial. I think they could have just done away with the analog gauge all together. All it does is impress kids who think that the highest number on the speedo is how fast the car will actually go.

why are you guys even looking @ the speedo?? the only time I check it is when I've passed or think I'm about to pass a cop lol. Otherwise I just gauge my speed off of rpm + gear. I bet if we didn't have the speed limiter in place our cars would get very close that 200mph figure

I agree. Max speedometer 200 is just dumb. Only a child or idiot will think cars go as fast as the max speedometer. I think I've seen cars with max speed 105, but the speedometer when to 140. C'mon now.

I also wished they started at 15mph, not zero. But that's another story.
