Here's a better comparison. DCT e92 M3 barely hitting 300.

Look at digital speedo it took a long time to reach it and it didn't hit 300. More like stuck at 298 lol.

^^ yes, about 186 mph indicated, probably less than 175 mph actual (not even close to 190-200mph actual). But at least they were having fun!

yup, after a while, you are just "stuck" at a certain speed, not gaining not losing.

Yup, speedo needle is stuck, but the gas gauge needle is moving at max pace.

Javy,

When I retire in a year or two I most likely will be heading back to the Vettes, 3200 lb, is significantly easier to control than 3800. Just have to see what improvements GM has in mind with the C7, and as mentioned I really miss the HUD.

I also wished they started at 15mph, not zero. But that's another story.
Its NOT a 200MPH speedo, its a 200 MPH/KPH speedo. For those of us in Canada using metric, we need values up to 200.

So basically the engine output would max out around 180 mph and we would hold that speed & rpm around 5,600 ..

So what happens at around the True top speed, with out any limiters kicking in ??

Keep in mind that wind resistance increases at the square of speed, so your resistance as you approach 200MPH is twice that of 140 MPH. Meaning, you'd need roughly twice the horsepower for 200MPH than you would for 140. A 600 HP Viper can't even hit 200 MPH (due in part to bad gearing).

Gearing is another big factor, and don't trust the speedo's either, they could easily be off by 10MPH at that speed.

I hit 192.2 mph with 430whp on a mustang dyno in a 06 lancer evo. This was buschur racing in Ohio who tuned my car and normally a car a making around 430whp on his dyno was around 500-520 on a dynojet. So I'd say it was safe to assume I was around 580 crank hp on pump gas. I hit 190 pretty fast and I'm sure I could have hit 200 if I had the gearing and didn't hit the rev limit (9k) in 5th gear (top gear).

By what measure? Your speedo? It's got a 6% tolerance from the factory and it can't account for tire slippage.

You need GPS, radar, or ideally a trap speed measurement to know how fast you're really going once you break 150 mph. I seriously doubt you hit 190 in an Evo with only 430 hp at the wheels.

Well, my speedo only went up to 170 so I wasnt going by that!!

My rev limit was set to 9000 rpm in my AEM EMS. I hit the rev limited in 5th gear, which was my top gear. I had OEM wheels and tires on the car, so all I needed to do was find the gear ratio chart. Stock trans, Stock gearing, Stock wheels/tires. Unless the AEM is off by a significant amount on my rpm's, it shut me down at 9k in 5th gear. My tach said 9k too. I wish I had a pic of the speedo buried past 170 and the tach at 9k but there was no way I was doing anything other then drive straight when this happened.

I had hit 150mph so fast (after just getting tuned) and I came over this small crest in the rd and I could see so far ahead of me. It was pin straight, no cars anywhere, no exits, no side roads. So I just stayed on it.

Like I said, the 430whp is all relative because on a dynojet, people making around that # usually make around 500-520 so take the whp with a grain of salt. I'm not making this up either, I was really amazed it got to that speed as fast as it did. I mean it wasnt jumping 5mph per second or anything, but it wasn't a crawl either. The mirrors (I assume) were screaming too. Like an air horn almost.

So are there any official pics of the 2011 ISF seen yet? I would love to see the outside cosmetic tweaks.

i was at work today ( i work at a $tealer$hip ) looking at the IS F 2011 new car features and there are no external changes only the head and taillights.. no mention of anny suspension shanges.. but here is some more info on the new combo meter..

i like the new features like digital speedo and shift light system, but not a fan of the look looks like a round peg in a square hole..
