the old one is aesthetically more pleasing. it looks simple and symmetrical.
the new one, however, appears to be more functional. the most important info is right in the middle, large and easy to read. it does appears a bit too busy and chaotic as a unit.

Why would I want a race inspired cluster if the car can't rev to 9k? For a high/fast revving engine yes, but for the IS-F I'd rather keep the old cluster.

I think its a little silly to give such prominence to the tach in a vehicle that shifts quite capably without driver intervention. In short, this isn't a race car, where the tach gets utmost attention. Even in manual cars, under normal driving, most shift by sound, rather than watching the needle sweep the tach.

are there any pics of the externals yet?? If there are any body changes whatsoever, aside from the led headlights, I will wait for a 2011. But if not, I might as well get a 2010 while they are they still have it.

I'm 99.9% sure, there are no body changes in the 2011s. Great time to get a 2010 right now. A dealer here in the Chicago suburbs has 5-6 ISFs and was willing to sell at $58K with 3.5%financing, was offered to me, but decided to go used 2009. Good luck.

If the M3 had a tach at the center of its cluster, NO ONE would be complaining. EVERYONE would love it and rave about it.

Like it or not its absolutely stunning to see the continued investment in the IS F especially in this economy. This is clearly race derived and another way to separate the IS F from the 220/250/300/350.

This is small but just encouraging news for future F products.

Couldn't agree with you more! The dedication into putting out an even better product from the first MY onto now is great to see. F is still relatively new, and it will only expand into people gaining more insight and understanding of how great it truly is. Lexus saw what F drivers wanted, and it gave them just that. From the 1st MY of the IS F, we've seen subtle interior upgrades with the terra cotta, black console trim, and now the gauge cluster. Performance wise, the LSD was implemented to complement what was already a solid product. And slowly the aftermarket parts are trickling in, which is always a bonus!

yes im sure they would love it
but not if they had a far better looking one before

whomever made the decision to change it should be fired

they clearly researched everything else we were talking about and asking for
i dont know how they could drop the ball on this
Im pretty sure no one asked for this or even complained about the old one at all
startup use to be sexy as u can see in the vids
i cant wait to see the 11 startup and not be wowed at all
