Default That intoxicating sound...

I'm sure this has been beat to death, but I'm having trouble finding information on it. I'm seriously looking into buying an IS-F and test drove one yesterday. I wrote my review on it comparing it to my BMW. My question is about the intake opening up at WOT. Is there a way to constantly have that sound or is it pretty much as is? Even my wife wanted it to be there all the time. I loved it!

This could be wrong, but the way I understand it, the upper intake opens up at like 3500 rpm and it sounds like a monster. Are you saying just replacing the stock intake will give you this sound constantly?

Just unplug the connector and wrap it in electrical tape.

You don't need to remove any vacuum lines. When the car is off unplug the wire harness where those vacuum lines go into. That is the solenoid which opens and closes the intake from the signal the ecu gives it when it reaches 3500 rpm. When the car is off the door is in the down position which is open. When the car starts up the engine pulls vacuum which closes the door which is in the up position. When you hit 3500 rpm the ecu closes that solenoid which cuts the vacuum which is holding the door in the up position which causes the door to drop down into the open position. If you unplug the harness it will always stay in the open position. I tried it but did not like it because it was making the car shift hard. Plus you loose that sound since it is open from the start so it is always louder. You don't notice the difference as when it opens and closes at the 3500 rpm range.
