Wow... Very sorry to hear. Hopefully it just pops back into place and can be repaired easily. **** happens and at least you were able to move out of the way and not get hit head on!

first off, thank goodness you're fine. 1-3k is a lot, but nowhere near as much if anything were to happen to you or the tractor driver. i hope that it'll be repaired quickly and hopefully for not so much as your friend said on the latter end. best of luck!

was the shoulder at the same elevation as the road? if so you must of really went down into the grass in order for this to happen.

1 to 3k of damange on a 60K car isn't that much.

+ 1 A new rear bumper cover, proper paint/prep along with removing the old and putting on a new one costs $1K, so if the car is as damaged as you say that's not a lot of money.
