I understand your response..
But I really don't think you saw that I was answering member "mikefate's" questions......![Wink](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Now to answer your questions..
You might end up "saving a lot of money", but the flow would be mismatched in many places and not optimal to produce good gains.
Also, you end up cutting up the $2400 oem exhaust...
Which can be very useful down the road if you ever have to sell the car, trade it in or get a SMOG check done with a state referee present (like CA & NY) if you get caught with missing emissions equipment.
Now 3" piping would be very hard to pull off under the IS-F... Even, If you did get to squeeze it in there, it would bang around & rattle in the tighter areas..
Also, you would have too much back pressure and it would hurt more than help on a V8 N/A engine like ours.
2.5" piping was the best size for our design V8 engine..
Also, keep in mind our true dual 2.5" pipes are mandrel bent and they remain the same size from front to back..
Best Regards,

That sounds absolutely sick ![Thumb Up](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Hell, I thought the stock IS-F sounded sick as it is, seeing as how I've got the V6 IS350, but this modification makes the IS-F sound noticeably more sinister.
