Default AWD Sway Bar Info - International Sale

IS-F Humans,
I've been told by Carson Lexus that the AWD rear sway bar won't fit the F, and that its not available by itself.
Can you guys verify it fits and do you all know of anyone that has one and will ship it to me in Oz?
Many Thanks,
Jeff

search on here and you will see that the rear sway does fit. I in fact am running one now. There are a few others on here besides myself that have them installed!

Search Page 12 (post #169) of this thread:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sus...thread-12.html

The PN you want is #PTR02-53080. However, it may be hard to find because it has been discontinued.

I just put on the F Sport rear bar for the AWD on Sunday on my car and it fits. I bought mine from Sewell Lexus for $152.60 PN PTR0253080 and according to their site they still have them in stock.

These are being discontinued and will only be sold as a front rear set so Carson is right about one thing. Hopefully Sewell can ship to Australia for you. Good luck.

Not really a gear head so I have no clue as to what the purpose is of changing out the sway bar if anyone could explain to me please what the benefits are.

The job of the sway bar is to control body roll when cornering.

Taken from Hotchkis. "The sway bar is attached to the left and right suspension and chassis. It controls body roll by twisting in torsion. The more the body wants to roll in heavy cornering, the more resistance, twist, the sway bar provides."

By changing to a bigger diameter sway bar you are increasing the cars resistance to body roll. This in turn helps the car to remain stable in corners and allow the car to go through corners faster. There's more to it than just putting the biggest sway bar on the car but this is a basic explanation.

Thanks, figured that might be the reason. Guess unless you are racing the car there isn't much need for it.

Not necessarily so. Any one that appreciates and wants to improve/change the everyday handling of their car may change the sway bars.

do you have a link? I found the swaybar with the same p/n on their site but it's listed for $225.00 http://is.sewellparts.com/accessorie...F-2010-90.html

You'll need to register on the Sewell site to get the Club Lexus discounted price I got. Otherwise you'd be paying $225. Once you register you automatically get the discounted price on all purchases without any coupon codes.

The new Sewell site (which is what his link is to) requires that you either sign in or register to continue with the transaction. There is no provision to enter a code.

My rationale for the bigger rear bar is the initial understeer on turn in. I like to drive a car with my right foot and I'm having to overcome that initial push to get the rear end out. That and I think it needs another 50 or so horse to really blaze.
