This isn't probably for everyone, but I like the way it came out.

Here's the before:

Checking along the way...

Almost done...

Finished!

Damn thing was hard as hell to remove from the front of the car!

Nice install! Was it difficult to wrap the vinyl around the grill surround?

Looks good, I did the same about 2 weeks. Yes removing the grill the first time a total pain.

Nah, wrapping was the easy part. Hard part was removing the entire grill from the car and separating the grill from the surround piece. There's a dozen or so clips and tabs you have to push to release it and they were HARD to do without breaking. That took me the longest time.

Looks good, why don't you wrap the L Logo as well? and can you tell us how you got it off?

I did start to wrap the L logo, but as I started trimming it, I paused and took a look at it from 10 ft away and realized it doesn't look good. If the entire grill was all dark and just mesh, it would be fine. The "L" darkened in the center just looks like a smudge. From far away it would look like your front grill has a messed up center section. The dark (CF & mesh) surrounding contrasts nicely with the chrome L.

I got the instructions on removing it from this thread:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-surround.html

It's missing 2 steps though. There's an additional tab on each side of the chrome section that locks it into the bumper. Also it's best to remove the push in clips on the far outer sides so that you can access the underside of the pins that hold the rubber strip down. Allow for about an hour to remove it from the car if you want to be careful and not break any plastic tabs or pins. Just take your time. Separating the mesh from the chrome surrounding piece was an even bigger pain in the butt. The tabs are pretty firm and pushing them without breaking them is a delicate task.

Wish there were more real CF parts for our car.

Anyhow here's a shot with the grill on the car:

I like it a lot - mine is painted Jet Black and has a few chips I may have to go this route sooner than later!
