Default ISF Tail Lights

Anyone have these and what do you think?

They're on ebay for $230 a set. What I'm worried about is the quality, as in no quality. If I remember correctly, not sure if the company is even in business anymore, but back awhile ago APC made these for all sorts of cars and they were notorious for leaking and condensing water.

I personally like the smoke ones, especially if you have smoked head lights to match, like I remember Rick doing for someone in one of the threads.

Although I'm fully aware our brake lights are already LED bulbs, I do wish for a proper "panel type" LED tailight assembly, however those ebay ones I don't like. Those LEDs are not arranged properly as well as the inner and outer sections don't match very well, especially in regards to spacing. You can also easily tell they use cheap narrow angle LEDs since despite being individually reflectored, you only see tiny little red dots in the middle of each reflector instead of the whole reflector lighting up for each LED. It's so easy to tell these lights won't ever pass DOT standards. On my old Honda I used DOT rated dual-stage LED truck brake lights retrofitted onto smoked altezza assemblies and they were awesome bright.

A more minor point is that the signals and reverse lights still use bulbs. If I'm paying for an LED rear light assembly the whole damn thing better be LED not just the brake.

As many have said there's a difference between being different and doing something that is not tasteful. These lights just scream cheap - too much chrome for sure and just looks like something made in China

I would recommend leaving the rears stock and just smoking out the clear sections lightly if you like.

I guess I'm showing my age. Back in the late 90's and early 00s, these were hot items especially if these types of lights were on a car other than a civc or integra. They were new to the market. Then it got rediculous b/c they made it for all sorts of cars.....lol.

Also back then, anything other than clears when it came to any sort of lights on a car (especially amber) was considered "fugly", but now I see some of you sporting amber fogs....lol. Kinda like fashion, cyclic I guess......lol.

I know our ISFs are exclusive cars, and mods should be tasteful, fitting of an ISF, that I understand, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

If you want to change, I suggest you to wait for the 2011 IS250/IS350 headlights. It's more LEDish than the ones on the ISF, and definitely doesn't look cheap.
