Are you getting a launch with the stock tires and the added HP? Either way 2/10ths is not bad, and may get even better.

The IS-F's biggest downfall at the drag strip is in the launch and as we all know a great launch can knock significant time off the ET and you'll gain a mph or two. For example, there is a new BMW M3 DCT thats been able to run a 11.8@118mph with his 1.8 60ft time, which is what I believe I could have run last year if the IS-F had the ability to launch hard off the line. The IS-F basically launches off idle and that just plain sucks!

I did my first run with my drag radial/wheel setup and I knew it was slowing me down considering they are heavier than the OEM 19's. djsai with his stock tires had no traction issues so I in turn put my stock 19's back on and had zero traction problems and my 60ft instantly improved. Of course when it gets cold out again, the drag tires will be essential because the OEM 19's pretty much become useless in sub 60F weather.

I do find it weird that your fastest run is with the AC on. I have yet to find the magic technique for running the IS-F. Sometimes it's fastest when I let it cool down - ie, first run is quickest. Sometimes it's quickest when I hot lap which means a run EVERY 3-4 minutes. Can't quite figure it out... The only thing that is certain is that lighter and better DA = faster. I also still find no statistical improvement in 60' times by brake launching vs. stomping on the gas. Looking forward to the first sub 12.0 this year. Good Luck!!! I have nothing to offer this year so I'll probably just go a couple of times just to see if having an older car is faster (21K miles now).

hello caymandive

how do you think we can expect with a supercharger on the isf ( drag time approx)

do you think we can go 11.5 without drag tire

do you think it will be better than a turbo isf

regars
eric

p.s i ask this because i see 1 isf with 225 hp on nos and he never go under 12!!!!

Without having a ballpark number for the amount of additional power a S/C would add, I can't give you an answer. Also, what do you mean you "see 1 IS-F with 225hp on N2O"?

If hes making similar power to me he will never hook from a stop. Thats going to be the main issue. Since hes supercharged, he wont be able to setup the car for boost by gear. If he is able to good power and not spin outrageously, he can possibly hit high 11s IMO. My NTO5r's will be in on Monday... Plan on hitting the track on friday. If everything goes well i should be in the mid to high 11s even with the Florida heat and humidity.

Oh you are referring to MRxSLAYx. He actually has a 125 shot and with his trap speed and a proper launch he will easily be in the 11's.

djsai and I met up again yesterday for more runs at Maryland International Raceway. It was cooler than our previous trip there so we knew we had the opportunity to improve our times. djsai made it to the 4th quickest NA IS-F spot on my list (see my signature link) and I bested my previous best run from last year.

My car with a very free flowing exhaust system has really brought this car to life. Being this close to hitting that 11 second mark I am now certain that 11's are possible with just exhaust and headers. When the weather cools some more I will be back to see what I can do. Stay tuned!

The Density altitude was -10ft
80ft elevation
56F
29.98 inches Hg
50 dew point

INFO:
Caymandive
-PTS JoeZ exhaust
-SIKKY headers
-Stock tires for all except the last run.

out of curiousity, what rpms are you guys launching the car at? do either of you have coilovers? have you tried preloading the suspension before letting it rip? i know the F is very stiff, just curious. i am familiar with dragging domestics, and familiar with my old is300, but ive yet to hit the track with the F

We both have stock suspension, but I know djsai has plans for some kind of suspension change later on. As for launching I've found the best way to get off the line is by preloading slightly with the rpms held around 1000 and then just mashing the go pedal.
