I am looking at AMSOIL Severe Gear or Royal Purple MAX GEAR.
- any input is appreciated.

When I needed some quickly I just popped into Autozone..

Fair Price as well..

Definitely good for 50,000 miles give or take...

I'm about to drain and refill after a little over 170k miles..

The old mobil 1 will have 70k on it, so curious to see how clean or dirty it's going to look..

Daily driven only, no track duty..

Pretty unlikely unless the car has been heavily abused. Oil's color has little to do with its lubricity.

Hi @Joe Z
Might as well change differential oil next time I lift the car.
Are the drain and fill plug gasket/washer the same part number (12157-10010)? Chilton's states there is a gasket for both.
That factory LX85 gear oil (08885-02606) is insanely expensive and clearly not an option. I am considering Redline 50104, how is your Mobil 104361 fill holding up?

Hey @ChpEng .. I was using the Mobil 1 Synthetic 75w90 as an inexpensive and good over the counter price for my open diff that comes on the 08-09.. I was changing every 50k miles

Couple of months ago I wrapped up the RC F - Torsen LS-D swap out of a 2015.

Spotting the LSD DIFF-erences for IS F

I'm actually reusing this very oil right now (low miles and clean) as a flush and the Toyota LX 75-85 is going in next.. It's rated for 60k miles in the service manual..
Both are GL-5 grade and for my daily driver I probably won't notice the difference..

Yes that is the correct gasket part number x 2 for both the drain and refill plugs.
Definitely use a reputable gear oil for your OEM Torsen unit...

RC F Diff works perfect + I'm currently tire shopping....

Hi Lance, can I use Motul 75w-140 on my 2012 isf stock diff? I do track my car.

I would expect it to work just fine. I've run Red Line 75w-90 in my Supra with a factory Torsen since 1997 and put 126k miles on it myself. The only thing to be concerned about is if it chatters. If that happens, try a different oil.

I’m using Cusco 80w-140 for my Cusco LSD. No chatter noise with this gear oil.

The advice on the Lexus service record states (Netherlands, EU) that for track use 75W-140 diff oil and 5W-50 engine oil is to be used... with exclamation mark.

Just to conform the above comment.

I'd like to see that bulletin. There is nothing in the US or Canada suggesting those heavy oils for any purpose.

Looks like a dealership list, not a Lexus EU list. Dealerships can say anything they like for maintenance, and here in North America, they frequently tell people they need a brake job when they really don't. The official guide is a booklet published by Lexus. The North American version has nothing like this in it.
