Default Raybesto Rotors and Pads - Mini Review

Many of you know that I did purchase Raybesto's a few months ago.

I finally put them on and for the price they are great! I've been running them for about 8K miles now with no problems. Taking a decent road trip to Memphis, TN and back helped be test out the brakes more and I haven't incurred any issues yet.

The bite of the Rotor and Pads are not as agressive as the OEM Brembos, but for daily driving they meet my needs. I have not gone to the track with them yet, but I have performed some 140mph+ to 60mph hard braking without any issues and very little to no fade.

Pros: LOW Price and very similar to OEM expectations, probably the best bang for your buck right now!

Cons: Still the same amount of brake dust and a slight less bite than OEM Brembos.

I'll be going to the track hopefully next month and keep everyone posted on how they perform. I don't think I'll have any issues with them.

What pads are you running and can you tell me what site you got the rotors from?

On a side note i wish DBA made some rotors for our cars.

so mixed with some carbotechs these should get the bite back. Am i correct in guessing the pads would make the difference in the bite? Seeing as the metal properties of rotors should be some what similar (more so then pads)?

Yes, I think you'd be happier with the Bobcats.

I think the bite issue is with the pads, not the rotors. I'm glad to hear the rotors are working well as I had my eye on those too for replacements.

It is interesting to note that there is now an ISF fitment for rotors at The Tire Rack, however based on the picture they are not cross drilled.

This is what Centric has on their site for this:

Looks just like OEM to me. Too bad it's drilled.

So far I have about 2K miles on the Hawk HPS pads with these rotors and I am very happy with the bite. I do not notice a significant difference if any over stock. IMO the dust is way down from OEM pads. I will be posting a follow on to my blog install shortly with pics of the broken in setup.

This is good to know about the TireRack site. I would gladly take a blank rotor over a drilled rotor.

So would I, but they're not blanks, they're drilled. See my post above with the picture.
