Yeah I concur on the R comps. Hook up extremely well at a prepped track. I have a buddy who only races on R comps in a 500whp FWD drag car and cuts crazy 60' times.

Will likely be my weapon of choice as well.

Did lots of research today and these look like my weapon of choice. I already have Nitto NT05s and they are just not good enough. I need even more traction than what they can offer.

Anyone ever run these Hooriers before? They seem like they will be extreme! They come in 245/40 R18s which is the same size of Nitto's that I have right now...

245's might be on the skinny side for a 150 shot. And isn't that Hoosier's circuit tire?

I don't believe so. It read a write up and it stated that they have started to use this tire for drag racing with lots of success.

I run Nitto 555 extreme drag radials, they hook up really good and are priced good, they offer them in plenty of different sizes as well.

I've been looking for a drag setup myself but am struggling to find something affordable and around 43-44lbs each wheel and tire combo. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the thread jack

Mine comes in at 50.8lbs, but the wheels are are 13in wide, so running about a 10-10.5 rear might get you close. The wheels are CCW Classic race edition with the Swiss cut outs to cut weight.

Thanks Flogrown for sharing.

17's are a lot less $$ than 18's and 25.8" tall to boot.

Default What is your Drag set up?

I have recently been going to the local raceway more frequently. Car is essentially full bolt ons with tune. No matter what I do I spin all of 1st and 2nd. I'm looking to buy some rear wheels and potentially slicks. But I assume only certain ones will clear calipers.

What at have you found to work well at the strip?

This is the drag setup that you will need if you want to run full drag slicks. I think I am the only person who is running full drag slicks. If you decide to go this route, you will need to install a drive shaft hoop as well as that is manditory when running slicks.
