Need help on buying new 10 IS-F
hi folks~
i read many posts on discounts, deals, invoice prices and some other websites members posted. i liked "truecar.com" website. it shows the sticker price and the "best" deal.
i just want to double check if i can go to a dealer and present the price to them. any updated prices list? does anyone bought a new 2010 IS-F this month or last month? just curious to see what people paid for new model. i saw 5k off MSRP. i went to a local dealer and i got 4k off MSRP. please help me buying a right car. FYI. i used to drive E93 M3 and BMW bought my car back due to many problems including water leak.
Lexus = reliability + performance (IS-F). hoping that i can keep my car more than a year !!!
i love 5L engine. not a high rev engine but i think 5L is enough for me. =)
Thank you guys~~~

Don't know how much MY10 going for exactly but may want to contact your local dealers internet sales dept and ask for no-haggle quote on a particular color / options.
Assuming you don't have trade-in, some will quote over the phone or email and compare it to edmunds. Dealers in LA areas are competitive so quotes may not varry much. Of course, there will be one with a ridiculous quote thinking we're still in the Dot.Com era.
Assure them you would qualify for the loan with your fine FICO score (Assuming you have a fine FICO and plan to finance) if they ask to run a credit check over the phone. Just like you, they don't like to waste the time, but the conversation would go smoothly once they sense you're a serious well-qualified buyer.
Good luck.

Hey I don't know if this helps but I picked up my 2010 TODAY!! Series 2 in Canada and they took $7000 off and made the first months payment. Salesmen said they made $34 dollars on the car and he is an honest guy. I dunno if that helps or not.

Right now, I just found out that the 10 ISF has a dealer cash of 3K. With the 11's already out, the 10 is a model year old. At this point, the most that I would pay, would be NET invoice, which is different than gross invoice. Here is how you get to NET invoice for a Lexus or Toyota: gross invoice - TDA (Toyota dealer Advertising) - wholesale financial reserve - holdback - the 3K trunk money for the 10 ISF = the price that you should pay.

Back in August, I was looking at a 2010 also. Your'e right, $5K off sticker was the norm, but that was back in August. Right now should be the perfect time for you to work it down to $7K off, is my opinion.

Thank you guys~
i went to the dealer and they have one 2010 (demo and sitting in their show room).
the sales person told me they have three 2011.
i read about 2011 model and seems like Lexus improved a lot from 2010 in terms of suspension and other mechanical things. and whole new dashboard layout as well.
i'd get great deal on 2010 but like some of you said, it's already a year old.
i am ready to buy one. just that i want to get a good deal as everyone else.
i can't wait til 2011 fall but i can wait some time to see if i can find a good deal.
quick question guys~
if you buy two cars from a same dealer, do you get a better deal? (of course at the same time) my father needs to change his. and i am thinking if i buy two car, should i ask for a better deal? what do you think???

Thje 2010 demo should be considered a USED car, and no longer new by any means. ALthough it may not be registered to a owner, you better bet that a couple of thousand miles on an ISF demo were no "gradma miles" by any means, LOL. Sure, if you buy 2 cars you should be able to negotiate an even better deal.

i don't know prob. close to the true invoice price? + and - of couple hundreds i guess =)
like when i say "hey i purchase this vehicle at $$$$" and i see their facial expression. if their face says "wow" then it's great deal! and if they are like "no way" then bad. try to save some money if possiblem
that's all.

Always shoot to see dealer's invoice, as they can print it in like 2 seconds..
From there negotiate downward and tack on the trunk money reduction once you have reached their bottom..
The dealership is always reimbursed the trunk money via Lexus corp.
I never care to ask for $1k, $2k, $3k etc off the MSRP..
Remember your GOAL.. You want to see the Dealer Invoice, it can not be denied and they have to show it to you..
Most people don't know that little fact.
