Future IS-F owner. Need some info!
Hi my name is Tim and i'm from the 2IS forum. My car got totalled last week and i finally got my check from insurance. 33k for my 4 year old is350. So i decided to stay in the Lexus family and upgrade!
Here's the thing. I have 2 IS-F's in mind. This one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...t_49636wt_1165
and this one http://www.lexusstevenscreek.com/Veh...ails/802922803
There is a price difference and they offered me 43,000 for the MRM one and 37500 for the white one. Price difference is 5500. One is in my area, and the other one is in Arizona.
I think Arizona tax is cheaper so buying the car in arizona would decrease the total cost?
Also how much are you guys paying for registration?
I think the white is-f will save me more money? Anyone disagree?

A few things:
You pay the taxes on the car in the state that you register it in. Since you live in California you will pay CA taxes, there is no way to legally get around that.
The white car has almost 54,000 miles on it and no remaining warranty.
I would without question go with the Red Car at Steven's Creek Lexus. SCL is a standup dealership to work with too.
Sorry to hear about your 2IS, but you are going to love driving an ISF.
Registration will be around $500 but it is really insignificant considering the total price.
Go for it.

The tax is based on which county you will register the vehicle.
Although it is reliable, but if MRM is CPO, I think you got another 3 years 100k warranty which "may" save you cost if you ever need to repair it.
I like the white one better but mileage is too high to me.

the 54k mileage seems a bit high for me, but if you're not too worried abot mileage and have a preference towards the SFP, go with that one. sucks to hear about your 2IS, but great upgrade. hope you enjoy when you pick it up!

The white one still has powertrain warranty but since you do work at toyota and these cars are quite reliable then I wouldn't worry about the mileage as much.
I like white more on the ISF and if you can why not trying going out of state to buy a white one...I'm sure you can find a mint white ISF for 43000$
G/L with your purchase you will love this car!

In my opinion, $43K for the 2008 with 19K is way too high. I would only get it around $39-40K. As for the other one, wayyyy too much miles on it for an ISF. Sure you're a mechanic, but do you really want to work on something you just spent $37Ks for? Also, $37K is wayy too high for that mileage. I'm just basing this off of my own experience of getting a 2009 USB (10 months old) with 12Ks nmiles for $44.5K back in August, in SoCal. Good luck. Keep on looking, you should be able to do much better. That check is hot and buring your pocket, but please take your time. Right now, since it's fall, dealers should be really willing to work with you.
