My situation is that the roads here are not as good and I would have to get a low profile tire with 20 but looking at the two wheels that I like Gnosis GS3 and varianza TS1 19 might look small

personally i don't see much issues with 20s and driving, i drive about 300 miles a week and at one time i was driving 600 miles a week and always riding on 20s
but if your road condition is not that good, then of course the 19s will give you a bit more protection
if you ask me, for the size of isf, i prefer 19s anyway

But I agree on your 19's for the F preference....

I'm a big fan of various 19" and 20" setups I've seen on here, as well as the stock wheels. It's mainly up to personal preference and whether or not you want to have that rougher ride on 20's. I live in an area with horrible roads and I've found if you take them carefully and do your best to avoid the major road bumps and potholes, you'll be fine. With the 20's you're going to have lower profile tires resulting in a rougher ride and an increased risk of damage if you hit something. Good luck
P.S. The GS3's are awesome looking wheels

Then you need to get rid of your JIC's and get KW's Charles . My car rides better on the 20'S than it did with the stock suspension and the OEM 19's.
Really not that much of difference in terms of ride or rim protection (unless you're going to buy some odd ball size 19" tire with a tall sidewall. So in the end it just boils down to a matter of preference.

IMHO, the overall tire/wheel diameter on an IS, any IS, makes 20" a bad choice for the vehicle. If the Total OD, were one inch higher, that would be another story. If your car is a garage queen, and not a vehicle actually used on real roads to transport folks, than 20s would be fine.
I know I will get a lot of disagreement on this, but that's my story, and I'm stickin' to it

I put 20K on my car in the last year, drove the canyons behind my old house so mine is far from a garage queen.
The choice to go with either size is a matter of personal preference, as well as driving conditions. In much the same way people choose to buy SSR, Work or Volk. There's no need to justify ones personal choice and try to legitimize it with broad generalizations about what the choice of either size means to performance and handling.
