After three years of test drives and savings I'm about to order a 2011 IS F. Hooray! However, I would like to get it WITHOUT the sunroof. The dealership is saying the "sunroof delete" is not available on the 2011's.
Is this really true? Thanks for your reply.

That is NOT true. It is a no-cost option, code "OS." What dealership are you ordering from? Longo Lexus is kind of hesitant to order one for me, I also do not want a sunroof. They say they do not want to get stuck with it, if I decide not to buy it when it is delivered. I told them if I buy a 60k car, then I'm ordering it the exact way I want it. Cerritos Lexus was much more friendly with my request--although I was just shopping to see what delearships would say.

Thanks for the reply. I'm dealing with Falk Lexus, Beverly Hills, which has provided the best price so far. They, too, might not want to order one without a sunroof which could explain the lost capability to order it that way.

that's a pretty good deal for an '11 F. invoice is about 53k, so that's not bad at all. but as for the dealer saying it's not an option, it might not be an option for them, as in they don't want to be stuck with the vehicle should you decide not to get it when it arrives. especially in so cal, i don't think i've come across an F without a sunroof. you gain an inch of headroom, which certainly helps taller people, but i think that particular dealer was weighing the odds of selling a vehicle without a sunroof. i, too, inquired about a sunroof delete, but i personally would feel a bit off without one. even though i rarely use it, i like having some light passing through. but in no way is it not an option. best of luck!

I, to this day, regret not special ordering my ISF w/out the sunroof and the redicuously over priced NAV and Mark Levinson sound system. I only caved in becaused the sales rep I had purchased two 350's from called when the car I bought was inbound and he made me an offer "I couldn't refuse." Love the car but think it would have been kind of cool to own an entry level F car... like one the above posters said... you don't see them...

^Agree with Kona... the ML audio system is no better than stock. Actually I think the stock system has better bass response. I never open my sunroof because when I do the rear-view mirror vibrates and it drives me nuts. I am aware of the recall but I hate the look of the replacement mirror and have read it offers little improvement. If I had to do it again I'd order w/out ML and sunroof.

Yeah guys, you just need to know who you are dealing with at each Dealership..

Most will give you the song & dance routine to buy from inventory or we can’t do a special order Lexus.

I was given the same BS when I was special ordering my IS350 back in 2007..


Greg, if you need a local referral on where I got my F, just let me know..
Even though it wasn't special ordered, he meet all my needs perfectly!!
