Not sure if this is correct. Don't really know about the IS but in my GS400 there is only one fuel pump. It has a similar saddle bag type gas tank as shown but with the fuel pump on one side and the fuel gauge sensor on the other. I believe these tanks use a siphoning arrangement to get the fuel over to the fuel pump side.

as I said, "most" I probably should have said most high performance.
my Chrysler 300c SRT had dual pumps, one on each side, as did my Camaro SS, in the Camaro the dual pumps were together on the same side, and the other side was the fuel sending unit.
