Is anyone else experiencing headlight 'shake' over bumps? I thought it was my fog lights but it's actually the regular xenon headlights. I was following a white car on a bumpy road (pretty much any road in LA) and was shocked at how much beam scatter there was.
I checked the headlight housings, bumper fitment, all attachment points and clips, and everything is super tight. What could be the cause for this?

I've noticed this occasionally and have attributed to the AFS. Because the beams are free to move when directed by the AFS motor, I think there is some play in the way they are mounted.

I owned Touareg and now IS F, I notice the shaking on both of them.
Both cars have AFS, so I have always suspected that AFS causes shaking. Curiously I never thought the shaking was a problem... I don't know why.

i've noticed this as well, especially on dips and uneven roads. it's not much, but noticeable from my perspective, and i'm hoping not from the oncoming drivers that can see the slight shaking.

AFS automatically adjusts the level of the headlights according to the vehicles speed and degrees of the tire angle that are controlled by the steering input, whether it's up or down or side to side. You guys will notice that when you’re going up a hill the headlight move up and when you’re going down wards, the headlight go lower. So having a bumpy road can cause the level control system to flicker back and forth. I hope this helps relax the mind to whom still wonder.

Thanks for the replies. I'll check the 2011s next time I'm at the dealer (probably for the rear brake squeak!)
I definitely see the light beams bend around corners, but the shake is whenever the car hits a decent-sized bump or expansion joint. It's a clear and abrupt distortion of the light, almost like the body is absorbing the impact with the suspension and passing some of that energy to the headlights. Which would make sense; it's just surprising the amount the beam moves.
Since it's happening with other IS Fs and ISx50s, it's probably a design 'feature'.![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
