Wow! That is crazy. Haven't seen that on the F before although in a previous car I owned, the roof completely shattered due to kicked up road debris that landed awkwardly on the roof and entered the car

Man my rear window quarter panel on my old mazda shattered like this also, but my tint at the time held it all together. Come find out, someone shot at me with a BB gun on 880 by Emeryville. Haters!!

Exploding Sunroof
So I am driving to work and I hear an loud bang sound and glass is everywhere. I have a huge hole in my sunroof. No rock a clear day and not too hot.
It seems this is a known defect in their sunroof and the government is investigating it. I called Lexus and they took my information so we will see what happens. The estimate cost is $2,500 dollars from Prohanka in Chantilly, VA. I have another estimate around $1,100 from a auto glass company in WV.
This issue is going to kill someone if it has not all ready happen. To spend $50,000 on a car that has a known issue is not right.

Yea - actually the federal government is investigated as the manufactures made them cheap and too thin. Over time heat and inside cabin pressure is causing them to exploded. I do not want to wait until it kills my family until someone does something about it. The lady on the phone at Lexus seem positive so we will see what they do. If they want to keep their high end luxury customers they will need to address this issue now or BMW here I come.
Thanks for the info!
