Sadly my F left, I posted it for sale just for the heck of it and sadly someone made me an offer for a trade plus$$. all my friends told me that not doing the trade would be nuts, so I did it. this is the new car[ATTACH]
My F would be missed as I really liked it. and overall I think it is a better car

Great choice. I see myself if not patient enough to wait for the next redesign of the F, then an upgrade to the GTR as well. Please keep us up to date with what's myth vs. reality when it comes to the notorious schedule maintenance cost of owning a GTR.

Congratulations. That looks just like my gtr except I have the light interior. People give the red a hard time but it looks great in person. The isf and gtr amazing cars, just different in purpose. I agree that overall the isf is a better built car.

congrats on the new car! another USB F going to a premium red GTR- i think there's at least one other member who had both colors. both are incredible cars. hopefully you'll enjoy this one as much as you did with your F!

I can't believe you drove the F and now the GTR on P.R. roads, some of the highways have big enough holes to swallow your SRT-8 (exaggerating a bit
) .
Enjoy the new ride, looks like you got a great deal!

The GT-R is an upgrade performance-wise, obviously, but like s4play suggested it's really a different car. It's not a luxury sports car like the IS-F. It's really a pure sports car.
The IS-F and M3 are extremely similar. A true upgrade to the ISF/M3 would be the new BMW M5 or E63 AMG. Lexus doesn't offer a GS-F so there's really no where to go within the Lexus lineup after the IS-F if you're looking to upgrade.
I've seen plenty of people own both an ISF/M3 and a GT-R as well, highlighting the fact that they really are very different cars. That said, the performance (stock and potential) of the GT-R are more than sufficient in my opinion to justify the trade from the ISF/M3/C63AMG class despite the fact that it's a very different car.
It doesn't surprise me that many IS-F owners look to the GT-R, the Z06/ZR1 as an upgrade.

You guys crack me up......thanks for the thesis on what a true upgrade is...

Upgrading to the GTR is all about performance. Additionally, I also think owning a GTR gets you into the realm of "Super Car" status, albeit just one leg in.... Sure, the price isn't over $100K, but it has the specs to play with the big boys. Actually, the GTR's price makes it a logical upgrade from the ISF.
