Vented hood?

Interesting idea. Is there a performance advantage or just a change in the look that you are seeking? Would the vents look like louvers? I am trying to picture what it would look like.

I found the other picture of the hood. Apparently the large main vents have always been there and I just imagined they were not cause I wanted something subtle. A painted version with just the side vents in CF would be sweet looking I think.

I personally prefer the hood with just the vents on the top of the hood. To me the side vents almost look like an afterthought and make the front quarter of the car look too busy. That's just my personal taste though. Would like to see a painted version.

I was hoping to drop under hood temps, lose weight and look sexy.. our cars run so f***ing hot you cant touch a thing if you have been driving it for ten minutes, forget a track day. I was looking for something with 4-8 flush vents on the top, i agree with MrOhno, the sides are too much. I just wish Lexus would make a interior/exterior carbon fiber option (air vents, the big plastic piece in the back seat, steering wheel, shift ****, hood, front lip and rear diffuser) factory for the car... they clearly have the designs all done with the CCS and CCS-r, just let us buy it! ARE YOU HEARING ME LEXUS!! i want super high quality with carbon fiber.. non of this fading cheap crap and since they have 1 of 2 of the most high end carbon fiber weaving machines in the world you think they would give it to us... and i cant afford an LFA (dam) which has all of these pieces. I know all of the carbon fiber parts I listed are available through L-tuned.com but it would have resale value if it came from the factory and with the added value i wouldn't mind paying for it up front.

Love the hood on this concept isF don't know why they painted it because its carbon fiber. its pretty much what i want but with wider, longer more aggressive vents.

the vents in the center are just fine. the sides, however, do look like something tacked on. i know what you mean darbs242. some ventilation does sound nice, especially to cool off the engine and everything under the hood.

Many of us associate unpainted carbon fiber with sheer ugliness and race inspired cosmetic enhancements. F1 cars are almost all carbon fiber, but they are all painted. Nothing screams "look at me, I've got carbon fiber" more than unpainted panels on a car. I personally think it looks like a metal body car in primer. Not yet finished.
