This might be a stupid ? but I would like to know after break in period why does the sound mellow down?

I'm not totally sure it does, it could be that you just get used to it. All I know is that when I first put it on I was thinking of replacing the mufflers but then about a month later it grew on me so much that I did not want to change much at all. There is a little drone in the 2K RPM range but is very tolerable.
