Best way to launch?
I was messing around the other day and I noticed when I launched with the traction control on, it seemed to allow quite a bit of wheelspin and the car hooked up well.
Does it works best to leave the traction control on at the strip?

Does anyone have any data to support turning off the traction control like 60 foot times?
When I turn it off the tires go up in smoke. When I leave it on, the tires spin slightly for 50 feet or so and the car really seems to take off. It seems much better to leave it on.
I would just like to know what members that are experianced from taking the car to the strip have learned.

900 to 1100 seems fine on street for me... if I'm able to disable VSC I always do. (Going to take 'good' tires though... I've noticed once your tires are at 50%... traction becomes a serious issue).
If you have drag radials... 1100 to 1400 with ease.

Im guessing you press the brake and slowly rev the car?? When drag racing my civic I usually set the 2 step to 8000-8500 rpms have the car in 1st gear and fight the car on the 2 step using the e brake until the tree goes green. I have no clue what to do on a rwd car...... someone wanna explain?

Switch to manual mode, turn off traction control and VDC, hold the brake and give it some gas up whatever RPM you can take off from without ripping the tires way loose. Then let go of the brake (think, brake stand). I’ve been able to lunch around 1500rpm on my 275.
I’ve been doing 12.9's@113mph on dynolicious bone stock (2.3-60ft.) waiting for the track to re-open. Promising.

It all depends on traction. With good traction, turn everything off and just mash the gas. With bad traction, leave traction control on. I have the racelogic GPS stuff and I've manage 4.2 for 0-60 with drag radials but never have gotten under 4.5 with traction on. AFAIK, only three people have done 60' under 1.9 seconds. One has NOS, Cayman has full exhaust, and I'm less modded than either. We all have our own techniques, but my experience has shown no improvement with either my IS-F or IS350 brake torqueing and I've taken hundreds of trips down the strip in my IS-F trying every RPM/sport/this/that setting possible.
