Its a bent pipe... Any fab shop could make it in 5 minutes. My Injen intake is build very well, defiantly no craftsmanship issues and its much lighter than my stock air box and im getting much better gas milage than the stock air box 26mpg highway. The heat soak in the pipe I think is crap too, you have a foot and a half long pipe that air is traveling through SO fast, it doesn't have time to absorb that much heat... How long do you think air is in your intake pipe? A 10th of a second, maybe not even that long? Not trying to beat on Joe...I LOVE THE EXHAUST!

The Joe Z intake does what it's supposed to do, enhance the stock intake. It has less noise and has a neater, more stock look that some people will want.
The open air intakes have more of a tuned car look that some people might not like with this sort of car.
Joe Z only claims 5 hp which I think the intake does no problem so yes, it doesn't make the power of K&N. It is a different sort of product.

BUT, the FACT here is that the Intake Pipe has been independently proven over and over and over again..
So please make sure we get back on topic...
Best Regards as always,

Thank you for helping us making it all happen and coming to observe our testing method so you could personally see how we are conservative and look for repeatability.
I think typically most shops charge to do three pulls or something. We did about 30 that night, many before you got there retesting the intake for power drop and for sixth gear power as well as reestablishing a baseline.
We also did a lot of pulls learning how the car reacts on the dyno to cool down. We also have a lot of experience getting consistent results from cars in general. Your typical forum guy that doesn't have free access to a dyno is limited to the 3 pulls or whatever the dyno operator is willing to give him.
I think that people can have confidence that your exhaust is good for a solid 20 hp over a wide range.
I think people can have confidence in their K&N intakes as well.

No sir... There were no filters tested with the independent dynos..
If their were any (from members), they showed zero from what I remember.
The pipe is a solid 3.5 inches.. The OEM is slighly smaller..
The pipe is 100% smooth in the inside. The OEM has a small section of ribs.
Also, the OEM has an air resonator chamber.
Key word here is "Smooth"..
IS350 pipe shown (didn't have an F inside shot)
Also, this Intake Pipe replacment will not be an issue in the Summer or Hotter months.
Since it is still utilizing cooler air, from the air intake box.
Thank You again,
Joe Z

Great... new wheels, new exhaust, now i have to get a new intake. At least I'm starting to run out of options here until I have to put on new headers and direct port nitrous injection but I digress.
I appreciate Joe's product, wasn't for me as I wanted to get rid of the stock tips so I went elsewhere but anyone that develops parts for cars that have a lack of aftermarket support is all good with me and gets my thumbs up. Thanks Joe.

I've been pretty much stock.. but after reading this thread, i'm really thinking of K&N and Joe Z exhaust. If you guys really got 40+ hp, that should be a definite noticeable difference on the butt dyno! It still doesn't seem possible that there would be that much go gain! And headers supposedly do another 20+ hp! 70+ hp simply from intake and exhaust seems absolutely impossible!!
