Default We Test the PTS-Joe Z IS-F Exhaust and verify K&N intake power!

We at MotoIQ did an extensive test of Joe Z's exhaust.

http://www.motoiq.com/magazine_artic...s-exhaust.aspx

We got extremely good results. Read about it and check out the video of the sound on the dyno. The exhaust is everything Joe says and more.

As per your requests, we also retested the K&N intake after 500 miles and two tanks of gas and found that it did not dial back in power output. We found basically the same power as before with repeated runs.

We also retested the intake in sixth gear as you asked and basically found the same results as well. The shape of the curve was slightly different on the very top but the results were close to the same.

Please check it out and enjoy.

Great Write-up. That JoeZ exhaust looks like a real quality piece. Makes me want to switch out my cut resonator/muffler setup for it just for the quality! Those tips aren't to shabby either.

Also, I just thought I'd point out that I picked up a K&N intake after reading your first write-up and couldn't be happier! Sound and power have been greatly improved. It was an upgrade from the AFE pro5r oiled filter I had previously.

Keep the write-ups coming! Hopefully next you can pick-up a set of headers

The site seems to be running smooth and fast. Is it still messing up for you?

I hope this clears up the concerns with the K&N intake.

Thanks for the update its much appreciated! Good to know about the dyno cooldown. When I get one I'll be sure to watch how they do it.

Im 100% behind the PTS exhaust but there has been some solid input showing other intakes are doing well... Injen and K&N, what makes the Joe Z intake pipe so appealing? Once headers get on an F the Joe z seems to start to restrict power over full aftermarket intakes. Splats N/A build, my build and the Beast from the middle east all seem to have made more power than any of the header/exhaust F's running Joe Z pipes.

I think an open element air intake will make more power than the Joe Z pipe but Joe Z only claims 5 hp, not the most power. The open air intakes seem to make 20+ hp.

I think we have shown that if you dyno consistently the car's ECU does not dial back the power. I know that when K&N designs an air intake they size the MAF part of the intake based on watching the long and short term fuel trims.

If the trims are over correcting, they resize the sampling tube until its correct. AEM does this as well. I know this from observing how they engineer intakes personally.

I assume that Injen does this as well by looking at the wide variety of sampling tube sizes in their intakes although I have never visited their R&D center.
