I traded my mostly perfectly good 350 for a new F.
If you get in your 350 and it makes the ugly start up noise even once you'll be kicking yourself for not getting the F.

I've owed booth hands down IS-F wins this contest my 2008 ISx50 was a quick car my 2011 IS-F is a fast car and much more fun to drive. So if speed power, handling and exclusivity of owning IS-F is not that important to you and you just want a new cool car quick car than get IS350. By the way I had all F-sport parts on my IS350 and it still does not compare especially in turns and stability at high speeds etc good luck with choice.

I did the exact same thing! I regretted getting the F everytime I saw one driving around. Now I have my 2010 Starfire pearl and couldn't be happier.

I was considering the exact same options and after driving a used F at the dealer and hearing the roar at WOT, I couldn't really consider any other car. Picked one up with under 30k miles for just under $40k. It included an extended Lexus Platinum warranty to 100k miles, and some other goodies. Sure maintenance is a bit more ($2k brake job, ouch!) but it's a car I just love driving so it's been very worth it. The previous owner probably did drive it hard, but he also took care of it, and I had a very thorough inspection done so between that and the warranty, I've no lingering concerns.

The 2008 IS-F (any 2006-2008 IS) has a superior sound system. Lexus made a change with the "Mark Lev." amp., main door speakers & subwoofer. The 2008 IS-F also has the turn dial sunroof controls (that I prefer). The best year for the IS-F, for me is the 2008 model. I have a 2010 Is-F, which I love.
Do ya need the power ? I feel that I was more likely to get a speeding ticket in my old 2006 IS-350 (with F-Sport intake & exhaust) than my IS-F. The car just wanted to go at about 70-90 mph.
I work for Lexus, I know a guy who bought the first 2008 IS-F (an ordered veh.) that we sold. He was there when that car came off the truck. He now wants to sell, with 3,700 miles and never seen a drop of rain. $$$ ?
You also must consider mantenance cost. The IS-F is about 2 to 3 times more $.
GOOD LUCK in your decision !!!
