Will IS-F beat a GTR?

Honestly If I could afford a GTR, Id own one it was my first choice when looking, I just couldnt mentally do the $800/mo payments and not have a life because of it. Next would be a CTS-V $600/mo. Still too pricy. The F easily beat out my fourth choice of a G37. Not complaining, but in a drag Race vs the F, the GTR is Godzilla.

Yeah, that movie was pretty funny. ![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
One thing I've got my friend on is gas mileage. We get 30 mpg highway in our Fs. GTRs can only dream of that mpg.
Lot's of other reasons the F is better IMO, but this is my favorite one to bring up - especially with gas prices rising.

What are you doing to get 30mpg on the highway? I recently did a 500 mile trip and averaged 22.9mpg on the highway...

I wouldn't buy a GTR even if I was loaded. I just don't like their looks. I'd get something else if I wanted faster than an F, like an LFA. As for my reason for posting this, I was just wondering if it was even feasable to make the F beat a GTR. I didn't think so, but was just wondering. I knew if anybody had pulled it off, I could find out here on Club Lexus.

If you were to install intake, exhaust, and headers on the F, would you have a chance to beat a GTR? Or would you also need NOS? Or would you ever be able to make the F fast enough (within reason)? Just curious. If you could beat a GTR in an F, you'd have serious bragging rights. ![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I had a chance to run a GTR from a standstill a couple months back with an 2008 ISF. The GTR appeared stock and I'm pretty sure it was. ISF is 100% stock.
First gear from a standstill, ISF's front bumper was at the GTR's rear bumper.
By the time I hit 100mph, the GTR was 2 BUS LENGTHS ahead, and still pulling away hard. I would estimate he was hitting 120mph when I was just hitting 100mph.
The distance is not an exaggeration, 2 bus lengths is what the GTR had when I hit 100mph. And the stats are correct, GTR hits 100mph around 8 seconds, ISF in ~10 seconds, which is a huge difference.
I said it before in a previous post and some disagreed, but the ISF is not a "quick" car. Of course, "quick" is relative. But for those of you with ISF's (no NOS,) 0-100mph acceleration runs are not that "quick." Go ahead and try it out when it's safe to do so and you can see what I mean. My definition of a quick production car is something that does 100mph in low 8's or less.
"Cheapest" way to get an ISF just to barely match a GTR in a dragrace is nitrous, headers, and exhaust. Which is pretty much all the performance upgrades available for the ISF.
