Anyone have experience with DROP ENGINEERING lug nuts?
I came across Drop Engineering in a Euro Tuner magazine. It looks like they offer good racing lugs at a reasonable price. Has anyone had experience with this company's products?
Thanks

i respect everyone for their own individual opinions and i'm glad you said it that way...i don't think it's really necessary to try to change your opinion...
it's just that a lot of people in the industry say this is a knock off of that and what not but every company has "knock offs" if you really think about it. look at the wheel industry. how many wheels looks similar to one another. exhaust manufacturers...suspension components...
what most people don't know is that BLOX and Benen is owned by the same company and look at how many Benen knock offs there are. but you don't see too many ppl commenting on how so and so knocked off the benen tow hook...well...not as many as the whole skunk2 thing...
but to each his own... not here to really argue with anyone... just thought that was a funny comment... brings me back to the honda forum days...
anyway... back to the original post at hand...

Hey guys, Supra owner here but I've lurked on CL for a while checking out wheels FS and also learning about SC's since I'd love to pick one up as a daily.
Anyway, stumbled on this thread and I actually have Drop Engineering lug nuts on my Supra right now. My car was on display at the Philly Auto Show the last couple years and I have photos from that showing the Drop lug nuts if you guys want to check them out, but they are definitely a nice product. I went with an anodized purple set to compliment the other purple accent pieces I have under my hood, and my brake calipers. I wasn't too sure about how they'd look but its subtle, and I dig it.
I would definitely recommend them to others as a high quality product. As with any aluminum lug nuts, torque them on properly but don't abuse them or they may mar on the edges from contact with the socket.
If you have any other questions about them just let me know. I've seen their engine mounts too and they are over the top quality.
I guess I can post links/photos after all, so here are the shots from this year's auto show! The lighting in there is harsh and unflattering though ...

I have no experience with Drop Engineering but it is is owned by Mishimoto (the radiator company) FWIW.
These are all the same lug nuts made in China by the same company. Anyone that pays and buys enough can call them what ever they want. There is no one at Skunk 2 "engineering" 'lug nuts. Intake manifolds maybe but not lug nuts.
So whether it's Blox, or Drop Engineering or Skunk 2 it's all the same and they are all a knock off of something made by Kics or Rays.
Having said that you can use the Drop Engineerings ones without concern. As long as you know that if you over torque them you'll need to replace it. I've used/use Rays and have had the unfortunate pleasure of ruining a set.
I use Muteki lug nuts on my IS F that are a bit lighter without the expense and hassle of the aluminum.

After doing more reading around, I've decided to keep my steel tuner lugs. I can't assume that everybody at the tire shop will always be cautious when torquing my lug nuts. I really don't want to risk stripping or damaging a lug to save a couple pounds and better looks. Thanks for the info guys.

and another option, which is what I am using for my wheel packages, NRG makes them as well. See a common theme here ? Mass produced and rebranded.
Since I appear to be the only paying vendor, you can pm me for a quick price on these if you want. I can probably get the other products as well if they are more interesting. The torque issue is a concern and it does require care both on teh exterior and the torque of these lugnuts. No impact involved.
