Some may find the front unappealing, but it's bold. Lexus will no longer be considered "vanilla" and though it might not suit everyone's tastes, it does appeal to those who want power and luxury without the loss of reliability. I'm really looking forward to the next gen IS F. If this is how aggressive the IS F sport is, then the IS F should be completely vicious in the front.

Joe, I hope Yaguchi-san took what we had to say about the next gen, not only power-wise but also exterior/aero enhancements.

the new design will grow on us. i'm sure it looks incredible "in the flesh", and in the right color. can't wait for the true ISF to show up.

I'm looking forward to seeing the second gen IS-F. Hopefully it will bring a bump in power to at least 450bhp to match the twin turbo inline 6 off the new M3.

Hopefully when they launch the release of the new 3IS they can talk a little about the 2nd Gen ISF. But due to marketing and it affecting their sales of the 3IS, I doubt not much would be said if anything. In short time we will tell...

One thing that lexus learned is that American's like V8's that's why we lose the Supra. I doubt we'll see a I6 in the new IS-F however. I have a novel idea!

To compete with BMW lexus could make an ALL new engine called 2JZ-GTE it could sport really cool technology like Sequential turbo chargers, and run at a whopping 15 PSI making a killer 460-470 BHP or 400 WHP. Have a really strong 6 speed transmission that can take over 1000 HP and run 8's in the 1/4.... Oh wait... That was 1993....

Why don't they just stick to what works, I mean Volvo has had the same t5 engine for ever and the damn thing just works. The 2jz wins the crown for reliability over the years I mean what other engine makes 1000WHP stock on boost alone?

How about update the 2JZ-GTE to a 3JZ with a nice valve port for flow, 3.2L, VVTI(already in the newer supras and aristos), Direct injection, 2012 ECM management, Drop the sequential in favor of a VNT turbo of the bygone Daytona Shelby and win the hearts of enthusiasts, new customers, potential buyers and so forth.

I'm so lost at understanding why car companies like Lexus copy BMW completely. No one said 50 more HP over you competition didn't hurt? After all Milage is never based on WOT and turbo charged power doesn't affect milage unless you homp on it unlike supercharges!

The new 3IS was revealed today. Mark Templin said the f sport version will have 8 speed tranny, rev matching, and locking torque converter. So now we know Lexus will step up more on the next F. Otherwise, the is350 and F would be too close. Nobody would buy the F when the cheaper is350 had a lot of the same "goodies".

Right I didnt like the 2IS first couple years but now love it. It will take some time to see it in person and different colors etc.
