2014 is needs to offer a coupe and a roadster already, if you don't like the idea of a coupe version...don't buy one, derp
Hopefully everything on it will continue to be refined. If Lexus can spend hundreds of thousands and lose hundreds of thousands on a "look what we can do" car they can afford to put some more time I to the cars people actually drive.
They'll make more money offering a stick even if it IS for cavemen. Plus dealerships will make bank replacing clutches an shift arms lol so more is-fs will be ordered and sold which means the tuning market much get a little more friendly.
AWD!!! Wanna trump the m3 lexus? It's called AWD. Throw a few more horses on and some more lightweight parts to compensate and oh my is the m3 getting out sold by a nihon car? Well butter my biscuits.

If Lexus sc's the f's v-8 for the gs I'll get a damn Lexus tattoo...right before I t-bone the first next gen gs-f i see, buy the wreck, and put the blower in a new isf....new gs-f drivers beware :P

Lexus needs to read these forums...

AWD? You want the car to understeer and weigh even more?

I think Lexus needs to stay true to the original ISF recipei. Supperb level of luxury wrapped in a small, powerful sedan, with enough distinction to make sure you don't mistake it for a regular IS. All that has to absolutely be backed by the Toyota quality.

I can't afford a brand new ISF but I simply cannot wait to see the F with the new GS styling. Bad-***.

I've never been interested in the GS but seeing the new ones I am always staring...I absolutely love that front-end!

But the discussions about a coupe? It'll remain a sedan for sure. Or it'll be a brand new model.

Interestingly, went to the dealership to test drive CT, and was told that the LS/IS-F V8 wil dicontinue in favor of a V6. So then the assumption will be a V6 with electic motor (aka new NSX). This will be very interesting for the upcoming GS-F and IS-F.

Some sort of blown V6 wouldn't surprise me for the next IS-F. This is the route BMW appears to be going with the next M3.

My hope is the IS-F will lose a 200lbs and come with at least 450hp. I also would like to see a true DCT transmission. Finally, I hope Lexus doesn't make the F only in a coupe because a sedan works better for me.

I'm guessing we won't hear anything about the next IS-F until BMW releases the specs for the new M3.

^^^ That wouldn't surprise me. But a V6 doesn't bother me at all....as long as it's fast.

I just saw this posted today...

http://www.topspeed.com/cars/lexus/2...-ar129606.html

[ Lexus is already preparing the next generation IS and with the standard version will come a new IS-F model. The first details we have on the upcoming IS-F suggest that it will be offered with a 5.0 liter V8 engine that will deliver a total of 470 HP, making it a serious competitor for the BMW M3.

The Lexus IS-F will measure 4,680 millimeters in length, 1,820 millimeters in width, and 1,400 millimeters in height. The new 5.0 liter V8 engine will deliver a total of 470 HP at 7,000 rpm and a fuel economy of 23.5mpg. It has been rumored that the IS-F will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in about 4.5 seconds and will hit a top speed of about 170 mph.

Rumors are also floating around that the future IS-F will be offered for the first time in coupe and convertible versions, but we’ll have to get more than a whiff of that rumor to believe it. Stay tuned! ]

^^^ Interesting... If the New IS-F came out with that much of a horsepower difference than the current model, I would definitely trade-in my 2012 IS-F or private sell to get one !

^^^ Good question, and if we can also add in there, if we can apply it to the current Gen if they are utilizing the same motor ???

Understeer like a gt-r? Or Understeer like like a 911 turbo? Or Understeer like a lp640...oh wait, the answer is YES. At this point the f is playing catch up with the m. It needs it's own edge, it's "oh yeah? Well I've got ______" and nothing would crush the m more than awd.

As for weight...who cares? If its such a big deal throw some lightweight materials in the build...though Theyed probably have to have a test bed for that...oh wait...lfa
