But, Lubuxracer, your track car must have had a modifed or aftermarket larger capacity pan. I am amazed at the OEM factory oil capacity of the F series cars. I mean 9.8 qts! My Chevy 454 engined truck and my hi-performance for the time 427 (L71) vette only takes 6.5qts. Even my non-hi-performance 08 V6 RAV takes 6.5 qts. The oil capacity on these Toyota (and Yamaha) engines is amazing.

Yes, it did have a Moroso pan on it. It was a race car and we knew it needed some capacity. Oil cools the engine first, so having more means you can handle more heat without damage. Any engine making a lot of power needs a lot of cooling if it's being run hard. Take a look at a stationary generator set rated at 310 kW and you'll see a very large oil capacity and an even larger cooling capacity because you need it at 100% duty cycle. Cars get away with much smaller systems because they won't be operated at 100% duty cycle, but racing vehicles will be a lot closer to this than any street vehicle so they need bigger capacities.
Lexus just did the F owners a big favor for engine longevity under hard use.
