Coming up on my first oil change for the IS-F just wanted to get some recommendations on where to get an oil change from a reputable place at a good price. I am trying to avoid the stealership and don't have time to do it myself. I am looking for a place in Newport Beach, CA or close by any suggestions would be great thanks.
The filter is mounted in a perfect location near the bottom of the engine. That makes it real easy to get to. I usually buy the filter from Toyota or Lexus, and then hit Walmart for a couple of 5 qt Mobile-1 jugs. Not worth paying $180 at the dealership.
in all reality gent's and ladies. for 10 qts. of semi syn it runs us $35.00 to $40.00 dollars JUST for oil., NOW we have to factor in the filter, that ranges from 7 to 9 bucks... that being said we have from 44 to 49 into an oil change on this particular vehicle. Now if you don't build "some" profit into this equation, the dealer will be out of business in a year. So as you see you have to through him a bone every once in a while.. let him make some money so you get served, and he gets served. if society did NOT work like this we would ALL be in the unemployment line!
Jeez that's still crazy! I change my oil with Mobil 1 5W30 and a Mobil one filter for $35.
Never going to happen on an ISF. First, you need TWO 5 quart jugs, and even at Wal-Mart, that's $46. There are few alternatives for filters, and Mobil 1 is not one of them. Some of the alternative filters don't fit, AMHIK.
