Lou,

If I remember correctly you have modified exhaust using the stock mufflers, or did you switch to JoeZ?

^^^^You remember correctly No, I do not have a JoeZ, I am still keeping my modified dual system with my dual glasspack resonators and the stock mufflers. I did, however, discover something interesting while inspecting the head pipes of the stock exhaust. The part just aft of the primary cat where the secondary 02 bung is, is double walled. I will be replacing that section with a single walled 2.5" OD stainless section. I will take picts.

So you are going to install the hi flow cats in front of the secondary bung to hopefully eliminate the possibility of any CEL's. Another advantage you may pick up is that it may pass the CARB sniffer test with the secondary cats. My last Vette with headers and hi-flow cats and with a tune passed, but of course would not pass visual.

What did PPE do about the dipstick relocation "problem" or did they end up modifying the header?

^^^^That's something I haven't investigated. I know that Sikky relocates the dipstick, but I'm not sure what PPE does. I'll let you know.

If I'm correct they'll make the headers accordingly and it'll go around the dipstick.

I did some muking around in some old ISX50 threads and found this:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...catless-4.html

I knew PPE did or recommended doing the 02 extension thing on their installations, but really wasn't sure how it worked. The above link seems to make sense and explains it. As I said previously, the other F with the prototype header does not show a cell, and has these 02 extensions.

So you need to have them welded on. This stinks because I really don't want to add stuff to the Joe z exhuast, I already have to cut to add race cats and now I need to weld the o2 bungle. This might hurt the resale of the exhust. Does the sikky headers come pre welded to the headers or are they the same.

That should work, My first race header had one on these extenders on a different car. It works by pushing the exhaust gasses further away from the source so the reading is very low and the computer thinks the sensor is still mounted in a restrictive cat/ source. Im curious to really see after people install this. The only issue I had is the cel would come on ever 1500-2000 miles so I just pulled the battery and re set every time. Im not sure if the lexus is that easy to just pull the battery if you do get a cell. I know the 1 and only prototype isf has had this and it works, but it still does not mean your never going to get a cel.

You use an electronic module with the Sikky Headers and Im at about 1500 miles so far no cel.

Are we really doing that much damage with our cars in comparison to what our world is going through. I cant help to notice the amount of pollution Diesel trucks dump out all day long....Not to mention Japan........
