Those who wait for the next big thing, will always be waiting because the next big thing will always be on the horizon. Nobody knows what or when the next IS iteration will be out. In the meantime, you will lose enjoyment now. The choice is yours.

I would probably go for the new 2010 IS-F . You can probably get some good deals on them now.

The biggest thing I dislike about the 2011 is the new guage cluster. Sure its supposed to be styled after the LFA with the tachometer centered in view. But in reality when you're driving it on the streets or even on a track setting, its really difficult to see how fast you're going and the tach needle starts at the bottom and sweeps only about 90 degrees of the whole tach face.

The actual speedometer is a tiny analog face with numbers too small to read on the fly. Then you have a digital readout which tells you your speed but that too is difficult to look at as its buried low in the cluster. Bad design imho.

This is what I mean about the small analog speedo and the digital speed display.
Here's a pic I took of a 2011 IS F Cluster at the Paris Motor Show last year. This is a Euro-Spec IS F hence the metric readouts.

Here's that Euro-Spec F which comes in Noir Onyx Métallisé aka Stargazer Black (a color we don't get on the IS F for the USA)

I looked at a 2011 in the showroom and I do like my gauge cluster better than that new center tach.

My thoughts exactly. I much prefer my 2010 console. At that, LEDs lights belong on Audis. I find them looking "tacked on" and "me too" when Lexus did the same with with the 2011s.

2010 suspension might be slightly rougher, but its still far more comfortable than the car I had previously.

I have a 2011. The center display works for me. I don't plan on tracking the vehicle and the digital speed readout is easy to see. I agree that the analog speedometer is worthless. However, if you do plan to track an IS-F, it's the 2011 that keeps up with an M3 because of the suspension changes. Most manufacturers will be going to LED DRLs in the future, so dissing those is a moot point. But if you get a 2011 you'll be sorry because all of the 2008-2010 owners without LEDs will rag on you.

Man that dash looks like it was not well thought out. Kinda looks like a kindergarden class put it together.

I figure I should weigh in here, as a new owner.

My motivation for buying this car was purely derived from the fact that the IS F is my dream car. I chose the 2008 because it was a great deal, is pretty much the same car as any other model year, and did I mention it's my dream car?

If I could do it again, I would have gone for the 2010 so I could get the LSD. My IS300 had a LSD and I really miss it on this car. I would prioritize what options mean the most to you and make a compromise (if you need to make one). In a perfect world, I would want the 2008 wheels, 2010 instruments, and 2011 suspension, LED DRLs, and interior. But since I obviously can't have all of that in one car from Lexus, I'll happily stick with my 08
