Well I ordered a set of new wheels and tires a few weeks back and they will ship out this Friday or Monday so I will have them by mid next week. Issue is my front tires that I was worried were to bald a while back lasted me another 4k but now one has some cords showing. I am worried that this could lead to a blowout. I commute 65-70 miles round trip each day so by mid next week it will be another 350 miles or so on them.

I either need to buy another set of front tires or what I would like to do is temporarily run a set of 18x8+38 offset ce28 with 215/40/18 tires on them all around. Obviously I know I would lose lots of traction out back but I wouldn't be pushing the car but rather trying to get by on not spending $600 on two new front tires to match the rears when I will have new shoes and tires by mid next week.

as long as it doesn't rub i don't see any problems. I run all around 18" snow tires for the winter so it is doable. not sure if those tire sizes will rub.
