Default which O2 sensors to change?

Hey guys,
am about to get sikky headers for my F and wanted to know if its essential to replace the O2 sensors on the manifold since the engine will be partially lowered and have access to them? how many O2 sensors does the F have? and what do you guys usually do or change as a clever act when doing the installation. is replacing all 4 or 2 sensors at the top on the headers themselves?

let me know

You should not need new O2 sensors unless the threads on yours are bad or seized up in the exhaust. Mine came off and were installed with 0 flaws on the threads, but it is a Texas car and may not have ever seen the type of weather some have. I'm guessing regions with lots of snow and long winters are not great for the undercarriage exposed metal anything.

I have PPE headers, and the front sensors needed to be changed, I got a CEL for the heater malfunction. Rear 02s were fine.

ok thanks for the info! about installing the O2 sensors if i need to, is there access to fit the sensors on the manifold once the headers are installed and engine back to stock position or its my only chance to install the O2 sensors while the headers are out of the engine?

Am asking cause lets say i find the O2 sensors being undamaged and get them installed on the new headers and for some reason an engine light comes on from the O2 sensor then is it possible to replace O2 sensors without lowering the engine again?

I had to change the fronts also, the rears connect to the exhaust those were fine. I think it would be a pain to change afterwards if its even doable, I don't remember.

It's basically a 50/50 chance you will have to replace them. Mine didn't have to be replaced, but from what I have been reading I was one of the lucky ones. Can't hurt to have a spare set of sensors just in case.

Yes, you do not have to drop or remove anything to R & R the front and rear sensors. Actually the front sensors are easier to reach with the headers because they are installed lower in the collector of the header, rather than above the stock cats in the stock manifolds. See pict I attached. I circled both sensors on the left side.
