Default Traction control off question..

I'm sure that it has been covered before. So far I haven't messed around much with the traction control off. Wanted to get used to the car first since I came from AWD before. I noticed if you hit the button once one light comes on. Then hit it twice and that other light next to it comes on. What is the difference between these 2 modes? I noticed the if I just press it once it goes off after the first pull. Is the second option to keep the traction control off as long as u want?

The first mode (single push) disables the traction control. It's useful during launch, but then it re-enables automatically at approximately 30 mph.

The second mode (push and hold) disables the traction control and the stability control. Both will stay off until you re-enable them or shut off the car. So if you're looking to get a bit sideways, this is your mode

All of this is from observation / common sense. The manual probably gives a more sophisticated explanation.

What year is your car? I an '08-'09 even after the long hold the electronic LSD (limited slip differential) stays active. If you do the pedal dance override the LSD function turns off too. If you have a 2010 or newer you have a mechanical LSD that will never be overridden.
